On Friday, November 30, HerrmannLaw sponsored the Maryland Employment Lawyers Association’s (MELA) 14th annual Conference at the Crowne Plaza in Greenbelt, Maryland.

MELA’s annual conferences provide MELA members with the opportunity to network and discuss relevant issues in employment law. This year’s conference focused on forced arbitration and class/collective actions after epic systems, sexual harassment law in the “Me Too” era and best practices for settlement and severance agreements. Guest speakers included some of Maryland’s most prominent employment litigators and numerous County, State, and Federal District Court judges.

As the Maryland affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association, MELA is committed to bringing together Maryland’s employment lawyers for education, support and fellowship. MELA serves Maryland’s top legal professionals through seminars, social events and top-notch continuing legal education programs with the objective of making Maryland a better place for both employees and employment lawyers.

Herrmann Law Sponsors AAML 2018 Symposium

On Monday, November 12, HerrmannLAW sponsored the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) Maryland Chapter’s 2018 symposium at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Hyattsville, Maryland.

The symposium is held annually to bring AAML members together for a day of discussions, networking and collaboration. This year’s symposium covered vital contemporary topics in family law, specifically regarding implicit bias in the justice system and how it can affect family law clients and attorneys. Speakers included US Court of Appeals judge the Honorable Bernice B. Donald and faculty from some of the leading law universities in the country.

AAML has over 50 years of experience in providing leadership among family law practitioners to promote a high degree of professionalism and excellence. AAML Fellows are experts in every facet of family law, including divorce, annulment, prenuptial agreements, property and business valuations and child custody agreements.
